Welcome to fAABI.

fAABI is a London based charity that has been established by a group of like-minded people who aim to improve the lives of those affected by brain injury. We want to create a client-led service; running social activities, events and work shops that support people living with a brain injury to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to live life to the fullest.

  • We offer people a chance to enhance their social life and experience new things.

  • We offer people a chance to learn new skills and knowledge.

  • We help people move on in their journey after a brain injury.

  • We develop a climate where a brain injury is part of everyday life.

  • We provide opportunities for people with a brain injury to take on leadership roles.

  • We raise brain injury awareness.

If you have had a brain injury, we are here for you.

Whether it be a traumatic or a non-traumatic brain injury, sustained recently or during childhood - fAABI has something for you.

We understand the social impact of a brain injury.

We aim to create a comfortable, non-judgemental environment for people who have suffered a brain injury to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge to take the next steps in their journey.

If your loved one has suffered a brain injury, we understand that you have needs too.

Which is why we welcome family members, carers and friends of those who have suffered a brain injury to take part in our events.

There is always something for you.

Whether that be to learn more about brain injury, to understand some of the practical implications of it or to simply do an activity together with your loved one – we have something for you.

Share our passion? Yup. We understand. Why wouldn't you?

We offer rewarding volunteering roles, where passionate people who share our vision get the opportunity to give something back to the community.

Whether it be to make a difference, gain experience or simply to help out - get in touch.

We have a number of passionate volunteers from different backgrounds, involved in supporting or leading events. Get in touch to see how you can make a difference.

“If only I knew about fAABI earlier!”

“fAABI have been an absolute life saver for me. After my brain injury, I would stay at home and not do anything. A lot changed after my brain injury, and I didn’t expect anyone else to understand. I’d be worried about leaving home & facing the world. With fAABI, there is none of that. From the moment you meet someone from fAABI, it’s as though they just get you. You’re introduced to “the family”, as they call it, and are given opportunities to regain the confidence that you might have lost because of your brain injury.” – fAABI User

“I had absolutely no idea that I was capable of anything after my brain injury, let alone learning to play a new musical instrument! It is so exciting for me and my wife to know that I still have potential. Thank you ever so much to fAABI for giving me the opportunity to realise this”

“Coming to these sessions breaks the “social isolation” iceberg that I was trapped in. I can meet new people in a non-threatening environment and I’m not judged for my hidden disability. It means that I can just be me and that helps so much with learning a new skill”

“Who would have thought that all it takes is patience, perseverance and time to make meaningful changes in your life? I tried to rush back into everything and failed. Richard showed me a different way, one that works for me.. and clearly everyone else here”
